About Us
The Police Emerald Society of Westchester (PESW) was established in 1968. We are one of the largest and oldest Emerald Societies in the tri-state area. The Society consists of active and retired police officers*. The Society was conceived with 5 objectives:
- To develop and foster a spirit of camaraderie and fellowship amongst its members
- To uphold and defend the constitution of the United States and the State of New York at all times
- To instill and preserve in its members the heritage of their Gaelic culture
- Whenever possible, assist members and their families in times of need
- To award scholarships to children and grandchildren of Society members as provided by our by-laws
The Society represents law enforcement agencies throughout the metropolitan area but has its greatest concentration of membership from the various departments located in Westchester County. We are very proud of our award winning Pipes and Drums of the Police Emerald Society of Westchester. (www.pipesanddrums.org)
